In a special sitting of the University of Nairobi Council, held on May 14, 2026, Prof Josiah Omollo Aduda was appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Finance, Planning and Development (FPD), further strengthening the University’s substantive leadership team as the institution accelerates governance, financial sustainability, infrastructure modernization and strategic transformation initiatives.

The University of Nairobi joined national partners for the Annual Tree Planting and Growing Initiative held on April 2, 2026, at the Upper Kabete Campus. This initiative continues to reinforce the institution’s commitment to environmental sustainability and hands-on learning.
