The University of Nairobi (UoN) successfully concluded the 2026 Nairobi Innovation Week on 15 July 2026, bringing to a close a week-long celebration of innovation, research, technology and entrepreneurship that showcased the creativity and problem-solving potential of the University's students and researchers.

The University of Nairobi (UoN) successfully hosted the Africa Forward Youth Innovation Day on July 14, 2026, bringing together young innovators, academia, government, industry and development partners in a vibrant celebration of innovation, collaboration and youth-driven solutions for Africa's future.

The University of Nairobi’s Engineering and Science Complex (ESC) successfully held its Research Annual Conference on October 21–22, 2025, alongside the University’s Research and Innovation Week 2025. The event brought together researchers, PhD students and academic partners from Kenya and France to showcase ongoing collaborations and share insights on advancing research and innovation within the ESC framework.

The Engineering and Science Complex (ESC) Innovation Pillar has taken a major step in strengthening innovation at the University of Nairobi by hosting a three-day workshop from September 22nd to 24th, 2025, in Naivasha. The forum focused on designing an Innovation Business Model to guide the operations of the Innovation Community of Excellence (CoE) and inform the business approach of other ESC CoEs.
