The Vice Chancellor, Eng. Prof Ayub Gitau and the DVC (Finance Planning and Development), Prof Josiah Aduda, join Key alumni of the Faculty of Business and Management Science for deliberations on development.

The University hosted a breakfast meeting with key alumni of the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences on August 14, 2026, as part of efforts to mobilise support for improving university facilities, particularly student accommodation.

The meeting was organised by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Finance, Planning and Development, Prof. Josiah Aduda and chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Eng. Prof Ayub Gitau.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the University leadership and alumni to discuss practical and sustainable ways for former students to contribute to the University's continued development. Particular emphasis was placed on improving student hostels and other facilities that directly contribute to students' welfare and learning experience.

Among the distinguished alumni who attended the meeting were Dr Patrick Musimba, Mr Joe Alando, Hon. Eliud Owalo, Prof Nicholas Letting and Dr Eng. Joseph Njoroge, among others.

The alumni appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Finance, Planning and Development), for initiating the engagement and creating a platform for alumni to contribute to the University’s development agenda. They expressed their commitment to supporting the initiative and working closely with the University to identify viable interventions.

Various options for mobilising resources and supporting the improvement of University facilities were discussed, with participants agreeing on a number of possible ways forward. The engagement underscored the important role that alumni can play in strengthening the University infrastructure and advancing its strategic priorities.

In his closing remarks, Prof. Aduda thanked the alumni for their participation, commitment and willingness to support the University. He also announced that the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences will hold a Homecoming Ceremony in September 2026 at the Lower Kabete Campus.

Prof. Aduda invited all alumni of the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences to participate in the homecoming, which will provide another opportunity to reconnect with the University, strengthen alumni networks and explore further avenues for supporting the institution.

The breakfast meeting marked an important step in strengthening collaboration between the University of Nairobi and its alumni as the University continues to seek innovative partnerships and sustainable solutions to enhance the student experience and improve its facilities.
