The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Finance, Planning and Development), Prof. Josiah Aduda, on July 3, 2026, visited the Faculty of Science and Technology as part of his ongoing familiarisation tour of academic and administrative units across the University of Nairobi.

Prof. Aduda was received by the Acting Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Francis Nyongesa, along with the Chairs of Departments, who welcomed him and provided an overview of the Faculty's academic programmes, research activities, facilities and operational priorities.

The visit offered an opportunity for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor to engage with the Faculty leadership and gain a deeper understanding of its achievements, ongoing initiatives and areas requiring strategic support. Discussions focused on strengthening academic excellence, enhancing infrastructure, promoting research & innovation and improving service delivery to students and staff.

Prof. Aduda reaffirmed the University's commitment to supporting faculties in achieving their strategic objectives through prudent planning, efficient resource utilisation and collaborative leadership. He noted that the familiarisation visits are intended to foster closer engagement with University units, identify growth opportunities and enhance operational effectiveness across the institution.

The Faculty leadership appreciated the visit, noting that the engagement provided a valuable platform for sharing the Faculty's priorities and discussing collaborative approaches to addressing emerging challenges while advancing the University's mission of excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and community service.

The visit forms part of a series of engagements by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor aimed at strengthening institutional collaboration and supporting the continuous improvement of the University's academic and administrative operations.
