The Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Finance, Planning and Development (DVC-FPD), Prof. Josiah Aduda, on July 1, 2026, visited Hall 8, located at the Upper State House Road, as part of the University's ongoing efforts to assess the condition of student accommodation and enhance student welfare.
During the visit, Prof. Aduda toured the hall and interacted with staff to gain a better understanding of the state of the facilities, the operational challenges they face and the overall living conditions of students. The discussions focused on identifying areas for improvement to enhance service delivery and ensure that the halls continue to provide a safe, secure and conducive environment for learning and personal development.
Prof. Aduda was accompanied by the Dean of Students, Mr Johnson Kinyua, the Director of Finance, Mr Stephen Kemeli, the Director of Facilities Management, QS Andrew Mbuku and other University officials, who joined him in inspecting the facilities and engaging with hall staff on the management and maintenance of the residence.
The visit underscores the University of Nairobi's commitment to continuously improving student accommodation, strengthening support services, and maintaining quality residential facilities that contribute to a positive student experience.
