The University of Nairobi (UoN) has made new developments on its system of websites bringing out more aesthetics and a more user-friendly platform. The websites have moved to Drupal 8, which is a better platform than the previous one.
The newly redesigned sites are already live and will be launched by UoN management at a later date.
The sites redesign is in keeping up with the emerging developments in the technological world and the changing needs of the University’s stakeholders.
On accessing the website, one can quickly get a snapshot of UoN displayed by high quality videos, eye catching photos and informative news items about research, teaching and learning undertaken on a day to day basis at UoN.
Apart from redesigning the sites to make them more appealing to our audience, new features have also been incorporated to ensure that they are more user-friendly. The redesigning was also aimed at enhancing user experience in navigating the sites and ease access to information.
The revamping of the system of websites was undertaken by UoN website team in the Department of ICT led by acting Director, Mr. Paul Kariuki, Dr. Caroline Chepkoech, acting Deputy Director, MIS) and Ruth Wambua, Project Leader.
Already trainings on uploading content on the new sites have been conducted across all the colleges. The trainings, led by ICT management targeted Web Champions in the various schools, departments and units to equip them with the necessary skills needed to post content on the new sites.
